Beguiling Trickery By Tempest C. Avery, I love the fancy name of the book and at some point the 'book title' was one of the reasons I opted for Read-to-Review.
But other than the book title, I feel it was a wonderful story with suspense, twist of plots, series of shocking revelations, tit-bits of romance and instances beyond expectations. A complete package of paranormal adventure and sweet love.
Beguiling Trickery revolves around the story of mythological/mythical creatures and gods, devils and angels, Asgardians and Ragnarök and of-course Kenna Erikson (Völur), the lead character. A teenage girl with power of seeing the future. Throughout her life she considers herself as a freak and ignores her powers which turns out to be her biggest mistake. Eventually she learns to accept her powers and understand the relation between the love of her life and her relation with her past re-incarnations.
Yes! Re-Incarnation is also there in this book. I hardly doubt any factor has been left aside and yet there is a well balance between all the characters and the plots which keep the excitement running throughout the book.
I enjoyed reading this book, its a great combination of all your emotions- you would feel sorry for Kenna at certain point and at the same time her courage fills your heart with an emotional attachment towards her.
Sadly, towards the end I felt the story went on a slow pace but not slow enough to loose interest. And it gained its pace as soon as the fight began, the last fight of victory I was waiting for!! It is always fun to read stories with happy endings and the fun part about this book was; though it had a happy ending yet the story ended in suspense...
I wonder will Kenna and Luke become one? Will Kenna be attacked again? What will happen to Fiske? Lots of questions circling the mind...
I rate this book 3.5 stars
