Delhi Book-Fair 2015

Books and Book fairs are always a special treat to the eyes. But glittering and sparkling eyes are seen when someone special sponsors to purchase unlimited number of books for you and if that was not enough, he would also carry all those while you browse through the collection for HOURS!!

Just like every year, the Delhi Book-fair 2015 is back in town. 

Ever-since my mother saw the advertisement in the newspaper, she has been hiding it much more pre-cautiously than ever. Haha! She really thought she could hide such a thing from me... C'mon ma!!

"How many more do you want? We don't have place to keep anymore books." Sounds familiar? That's what we all hear when it comes to buying more book and so did I. But I was prepared this time.

"Moooommmm, See that little corner! I made SPECIAL SPACE for my book" YAyyyy!!!! No more objections... I won!!

Just few more and then I am done for the year, that is what I tell myself every-year and end up buying more and more. There is really no standard elaborative definition of the word 'more'. How can one stop when such amazing worlds are floating all around you, one has to just grab the best they find and gobble it up like a hot chocolate-muffin. That is the same with me... I can't say the word STOP to myself, neither do I have any intentions ever!! Do you??

So.... Here I was again at the bookfair with my sweetheart, biting my nails, pushing through the crown, drooling over the discounts and running in the hot sun for more books. And you know what, I GOT HEAVY DISCOUNTS!! YAYY!!! 

Fortunately or unfortunately, I was already done finishing my collection for everybook I own during World Book Fair-2014. Fortunately, I had my collection complete; unfortunately, I couldn't understand what else do I want? But such a thought never stops you from buying more... does it?? There are so many books that do not need to fit in your series yet be a part of your collection. Yipeee..... <gasp>

We would just run from one stall to the other, juggle between the better and the best, drag each other to the discounted sections and fight for the far more interesting stories. It was so much fun.

About the book fair: After being associated with the publication industry, I was a little disappointed to see the degradation of the standard of Book Fairs. It seems Penguin Group, Random House, Roli Books, Harper-Collins, etc... some of the brands, we book lovers always look forward to visit had not participated. I wonder has this something to do with the introduction of the digital media for print and publication that people have started to dislike hard-bind? Or, is this some other marketing strategy of cutting costs? OH well, I missed the brand and am still madly in love with collecting hard-copies. I am sure, most of you still miss the fun of hardbound, freshly printed smell of books. <Sigh!!>
